Impact 2K10 is a national level inter-collegiate film festival that is being hosted by the Department of Visual Communication, Hindustan College of Arts & Science. The Dr. KCG Memorial National Film Festival calls out to aspiring film makers to come and showcase their work along with the best of them.
The contest is open to media students on a pan India basis. Students can submit their work in three categories i.e. Short films, Documentary films, and Ad films. The films will be reviewed by a jury consisting of a panel of industry experts. The best films in all three categories will receive the KCG Memorial Award and cash awards.
The screening of the short listed movies will be held on 25 th and 26 th of February at MGR Hall Hindustan Campus. The prize distribution ceremony will be on 26 th among a bevy of celebrities.

The objective of this contest is to encourage the students to explore their creativity through their films. We expect short films, documentary films and advertising films for the competition from the media related institutions all over India. More than 100 colleges are expected to participate in this contest.

The CLUB IMPACT has been started on 13 June 2007 in the Department of Media studies. The purpose of forming this club is to encourage the students in their extracurricular creative skills and give a platform for a better coordination among themselves.

This club will take care of all the activities conducted inside the department such as organizing field trips, organizing seminars, symposiums, technical meets, both internal and intercollegiate, organizing industrial visits, etc.

About Hindustan Group
The Hindustan Group of Institutions was founded in 1966 by our founder and Chairman, Late Dr.K.C.G.Verghese. In the Sixties, our Chairman had realized the need for an institution that offers non-formal technical education. The establishment of Hindustan Engineering Training Centre (HETC) helped in the evolution of Hindustan Institution of Engineering Technology (HIET) which met this need. Hindustan Engineering Training Center (H.E.T.C) educational society laid the corner stone in the field of Arts and Science with the inception of Hindustan College of Arts and Science to establish an educational institution of exceptional merit.

Hindustan College of Arts and Science opened its gates to the student fraternity in 1995. Location

The college is located at Padur, about 22 kms. South of Chennai city, on the Old Mahabhalipuram road. The campus is spread over a lush green stretch of nearly 120 acres overlooking the scenic Muttukadu Lake . For the convenience of its students and staff, the college operates its own transport system, which picks up and drop them back on a daily basis.
